A MARLWOOD School pupil has been declared one of the country’s top young mathematicians.
Jack Buckingham, who is a year 11 pupil at the Alveston school, was recently ranked in the top 30 mathematicians in the country.
The ranking comes after Jack took part in the Intermediate Mathematics Olympiad, a competition run by the UK Mathematics Trust.
The competition invites the top 1,600 year nine, 10 and 11 pupils in the country to take part with the aim to provide encouragement and stimulation to the mathematically able.
A spokesman from Marlwood School said: "This is a magnificent and wonderful achievement."
