A CHILDREN’S centre has been praised by Ofsted inspectors for making rapid improvements.
Treetops Children’s Centre in Dursley has been given a ‘good’ grading from Ofsted.
The report said there is a ‘strong’ and successful team of staff and that children play and learn in a ‘stimulating environment’.
Inspector Denise Franklin said: "Treetops Children’s Centre is a rapidly improving setting. Staff have worked hard to make the necessary improvements since the last inspection and now provide good quality care for all its children.
"Children enjoy learning in attractive and stimulating learning environments.
"There is good provision for children in all rooms and they achieve well. Babies enjoy a range of brightly coloured toys and there are quiet areas for them to rest and enjoy one-to-one attention."
Manger of the children’s centre Sarah Birch said she was extremely pleased with the report.
She added: "I would also like to point out that we are a referral centre for children with additional needs, and that we are rated as outstanding for this aspect of our childcare."
From spring 2010 there will be a Children’s Centre in Wotton-under-Edge which is being developed by the Treetops team.
