PEOPLE are being reminded to lock away garden furniture and keep sheds and garages locked after a burglary in Cam.
Unknown offenders are believed to have entered an unlocked garden shed in Quarry Gardens and stole a number of items, including two blue Raleigh mountain bikes worth £150 each and an orange coloured Black and Decker Hedge Trimmer worth £85.
The incident happened between 9pm yesterday evening and 6am this morning.
Crime Reduction Officer Cindy Pickersgill urged residents to keep on top of their home security to prevent further incidents from occurring.
She said: "By taking simple steps like locking your shed or garage and whenever possible preventing casual intrusion into your garden may deter thieves from targeting your home.
"The last thing anybody wants is their summer to be ruined by thieves. By taking simple steps you can reduce the opportunity for crime and avoid becoming a victim of crime."
Anybody with any information on this incident is asked to call Gloucestershire police on 0845 090 1234 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident 91 of May 29.
