SECTIONS of the busy A4174 Avon Ring Road are to be closed to allow for council maintenance.
South Gloucestershire Council has announced it is closing one lane so staff can cut the grass on the side verges and on the central reservation, pick up litter, empty the gullies and sweep the roads.
A spokesman for the authority said: "Some of the work will be carried out on the central reservation which is why the lane closure is required as a safety precaution.
"These essential works are expected to cause some delays to journey times and therefore the works have been planned to take place outside of peak hours and phased along the length of the A4174 to minimise disruption."
From Thursday, June 4 a lane will be closed between Westerleigh and Shortwood and Friday, June 5 from Shortwood to Carsons Road. Next Monday, June 8 a lane will close between Carsons Road and Deanery Road, on Tuesday, June 9 from Deanery Road to Aspects Leisure Centre and on Wednesday from Aspects Leisure Centre to Hicksgate Bridge.
