THE first results of the Gloucestershire County Council elections for the Gazette area have been announced.
Liberal Democrat candidate John Cordwell retained his seat in Wotton-under-Edge with 1,527 votes. There was a high turnout of 50 per cent.
Conservative candidate Basil Booth also kept control of his Berkeley Vale seat. He was a clear winner with 2,106 votes and the turnout was 43 per cent.
