A DRIVER has died in a horrific accident with a tanker in Acton Turville.
The man, from Wiltshire, was pronounced dead at the scene when his Skoda car collided with the tanker on the B4040 Luckington Road, on the railway bridge.
The accident happened at 9.08am on Tuesday.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance was called to the scene but was not needed. Avon Fire and Rescue and police from Avon and Somerset and Wiltshire constabularies all attended the scene of the accident.
The road had to be closed in both directions for several hours.
A police spokesman said: "Road closures and diversions were put in place while accident investigators examined the scene."
