POLICE in Yate have stepped up a hunt for a teenage groper who has attacked a number of woman in the town.
Officers were on patrol outside the three secondary schools in the area this morning following another sexual assault yesterday.
A schoolboy, thought to be aged 13 or 14, assaulted a woman who was walking along Westleigh Close, near Yate Train Station, at 5.45pm. The teenager was on a bike which was fluorescent green or had some fluorescent colours.
The incident follows a number of similar assaults in south Yate where a teenager on a bicycle has attacked women walking in the area.
Beat manager PC Giles Sutton said police believed one teenager is responsible for all the attacks.
He said: "If anyone experiences anything similar we would urge them to contact police.
"Also if anybody sees anything relating to these incidents place call us immediately."
He added: "We were at all the local secondary schools on Wednesday morning looking for the bike that matches the description and to see if anybody knows anything."
Contact police on 0845 456 7000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
