SCOUTS in Thornbury will be able to get out and about thanks to the generosity of the town’s Round Table.
Thornbury Round Table recently donated £500 to the 1st Thornbury Scout Group to help cover the cost of servicing the group’s two minibuses.
All sections of Thornbury Scouts use the minibuses to transport the youngsters to activities around Thornbury and the Bristol area.
In addition, the Cubs and Scouts regularly use the minibuses on their camping trips, which have been as far afield as Pembrokeshire and Plymouth.
Sally Wardrobe, group Scout leader at 1st Thornbury Scout Group, said: "Having two buses at our disposal is vital in enabling youngsters to enjoy the many Scouting activities available in this area.
"However, this year alone the MOT and servicing costs amounted to over £1,000 and so the group is extremely grateful to the Round Table for this donation."
The minibuses are available for hire by other organisations. For more information email Laurence.Blackwell@blueyonder.co.uk
