DURSLEY is set to get a new supermarket before Christmas, but it won’t be Sainsbury’s.
Lidl is preparing the site at Kingshill parade before work is due to start on the refit in a few weeks.
The low-cost supermarket company says it hopes to have the store open before Christmas.
A spokesman for the company said: "We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone in the town for their support and patience during this time and we look forward to opening the new store."
Lidl confirmed that all staff from the Somerfield store in Kingshill will be able to reapply for a position at the supermarket.
