CHILDREN and staff at a pre-school in Thornbury have been celebrating their second outstanding Ofsted report in 18 months.
First Step Pre-School, which is located within the grounds of Christ the King School, recently received an outstanding Ofsted report after a visit from government inspectors.
Jenny Harris, play leader at First Step Pre-School, said: "We are absolutely thrilled with the report.
"This is the second time we have achieved an outstanding Ofsted report and everybody is very proud of our achievement."
The pre-school was last visited by Ofsted 18 months ago when it was also praised for its provision of child care.
Paul Mattausch Burrows, the Ofsted inspector who conducted the latest inspection, wrote in his report: "Overall quality of the provision is outstanding. Children thrive academically and socially due to the extent support provided by the well-trained staff. The needs of all children are met through the inclusive nature of all that the pre-school provides and their safety is assured."
The pre-school was given one area to improve and that was to develop the outside area to increase its use in all weathers.
