THE search for talent in Wickwar is on as the village launches its own competition.
Singers, performances, dancers and circus acts are all being invited to audition for a chance to be named champion in Wickwar’s Got Talent.
Initial auditions take place in September, when a panel of four judges will decide on six finalists to perform at a special harvest support on October 10 in Alexander Hosea Primary School.
Anyone from the village is welcome to apply, there is no age restriction.
Organiser Tamson Scott said: "We are looking for people of all ages. Five-year-olds to senior citizens, will all be welcome to try to impress our judges hoping to find an entertaining mixture of talent for our showcase.
"We are looking for all sorts of acts, from singing, dancing to juggling with plates.
"I know there are so many people out there wanting to have a go and we are going to give them an opportunity to shine as well as creating a night to remember for everyone."
Rev David Russell, who is also helping to organise the talent contest, said: "We are already getting responses to this fantastic idea."
The auditions take place on Saturday, September 5 (1-4pm) and Monday, September 7 (6-9pm) in Wickwar Village Hll. All funds raised from the competition will be donated to the running costs of Wickwar Holy Trinity Church.
