HEAVY snowfall overnight has been causing chaos across the region, with bus services cancelled and schools closed.
Motorists are being warned to only drive if absolutely necessary due to the treacherous conditions.
Several inches of snow fell overnight and flakes are continuing to fall at the moment in Thornbury and Yate.
Bristol International Airport has also closed and many flights have been cancelled. It is not expected to reopen until midday at the earliest.
Many schools across South Gloucestershire and Gloucestershire are closed and a number of bus services have also been cancelled.
Weather forecasters are predicting more freezing temperatures tonight.
