POLICE across Avon and Somerset received more than 100 calls today as a result of the adverse weather conditions.
Officers have attended two road traffic collisions in Bristol which involved minor injuries and 11 damage only collisions, five of which were in Bristol, one in Bridgwater, one in Winterbourne Down, two in Bath, one in Yeovil and one in Weston-super-Mare.
At this stage all of these incidents are thought to have been related to the extreme weather.
Police have also been called by many motorists who have had to abandon their vehicles and to 40 incidents where there has been highway disruption.
Police are continuing to urge drivers and pedestrians to take extra care on the roads and only travel if absolutely necessary.
