POLICE in Chipping Sodbury are appealing to New Year’s Eve revellers to help catch a couple responsible for smashing a shop window.
Officers are hoping people who were out on the town in the early hours of New Year’s Day will remember seeing a man and a woman outside the Spar shop on High Street.
Beat manager PC Mike Hart said the incident happened at 2.13am.
He said: "The woman had a can of beer and she put it down by the shop of the door.
"The male kicked the can and shattered the glass leaving a star shape in the window."
He said the incident had been caught on CCTV cameras but the images did not identify the couple.
The man is described as aged between 20 and 30. He was wearing dark coloured clothing. The woman was a similar age and was also wearing dark clothes and a yellow or light coloured long top and leggings.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to contact Avon and Somerset Constabulary on 0845 456 7000.
