MANAGEMENT at an estate in South Gloucestershire are set to reveal plans for its future development.

Next week bosses at Eastwood Park are going to present their plans for the estate for the next five to ten years.

Eastwood Park, which is on the A38 near Falfield, is a private 200-acre country estate comprising of a large Victorian mansion house, training laboratories, lecture theatres, workshops and conference facilities.

For 40 years the estate has provided specialist technical healthcare, engineering and facilities management training, as well as hosting weddings and conferences.

However, management now say the estate needs a change and plans are in the pipeline to redevelop some of the site including demolishing some of the buildings.

The estate has already started consultations with local councillors and representatives from Eastwood Park will be attending Falfield Parish Council next Tuesday, January 19 to talk to residents about the proposals.

John Thatcher, Eastwood Park's chief executive and training director, said: "We are just entering very early discussions with the parish council about certain options for the Eastwood Park estate, particularly where we need to refurbish and replace redundant buildings and upgrade our training and conference facilities.

"This is part of an ongoing and developing five to 10 year plan. A number of the older buildings on the estate are coming to the end of their useful life and we are conscious we could operate more effectively, including delivering better energy efficiency, by upgrading facilities on the site.

"We are considering many options to ensure the long-term growth and future success of the business.

"As the strategy evolves we will keep you up to date, however, as you will appreciate this will be a long-term process, and at the moment it is very early days."

Falfield Parish Council will be meeting at Falfield Village Hall on Tuesday, January 19 (7.30pm).
