THE air ambulance made two landings in two days at the Dursley recreation field.
The first was to take a young man, in his mid-20s, to Frenchay Hospital following an accident on the Sainsbury’s work site in Castle Street.
The ambulance service was called yesterday just before 2.30pm to reports that the workman had a crushed left hand. Great Western Ambulance Service dispatched a rapid response vehicle and later the Great Western Air Ambulance, which is based at Filton, picked up the patient.
This morning the West Midlands helicopter, which covers the north of the county, landed on the recreation field as it was the closest it could get to a serious accident on the A46 near Wotton-under-Edge. The patient was later taken by ambulance to Royal United Hospital in Bath.
