POLICE have uncovered a hoard of drugs and cannabis growing equipment at several houses in Dursley. Gloucestershire Constabulary are hoping the crackdown will send out a message to those involved in drugs that they will be brought to justice.

During a search yesterday at a property in Kingsway, Dursley, hydroponics equipment was found with nearly 30 cannabis plants.

On the same day during a search of a house in Victoria Close, Dursley, police found what they believed to be quantities of both class A and B drugs and in Hillside Court, Dursley, 16 cannabis plants were found with hydroponics equipment, which is used to grow the plant.

Chief Superintendent Gary Thompson said: "These arrests show our dedication to addressing all levels of drug crime from possession through to cultivation and supply.

"These incidents provide just a snapshot of the work that we are doing in the Cotswolds and Stroud division to keep residents safe from harm.

"We are committed to ensuring that we do all we can to tackle all levels and types of criminality which affects the quality of life for our communities from anti-social behaviour through to drug crime.

"We want our local communities to have confidence in us and our determination to tackle these crimes."

He added: "Our actions should act as a warning to those people involved in drugs offences that they will be brought to justice."

If you have any information about the use or supply of illegal drugs you can report it to Gloucestershire police on 0845 090 1234 or anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
