SHOPKEEPERS are being asked to be on the look out for fake £10 notes.
According to police on Monday, January 25 a man was seen in the Olveston area trying to buy goods with a counterfeit £10.
Acting Sergeant Neil Whyman, from Thornbury Police Station, said: "One of the shops he entered refused to accept the note but unfortunately another shop did accept it.
"We want to make other local businesses aware that counterfeit £10 notes are in the area and to make sure staff check notes that are handed over thoroughly.
"The man we would like to speak to is described as a white male, mid-20s, 5ft 11ins with brown-spiky hair. The witness also described him as good looking."
Anyone with information should contact Thornbury police on 0845 456 7000 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
