A MAN has been killed on the M5 this morning after his car stopped on the hard shoulder.
At 7am a man stopped his vehicle on the hard shoulder of the southbound side of the motorway between junctions 14 and 15, Falfield to Almondsbury.
It is believed the man got out of his car and was then hit by a passing vehicle in lane one, and then by another two vehicles.
None of the vehicles involved stopped but police say they may not be aware of what happened, and are now trying to trace the drivers.
Lanes one and two of the M5 are closed at the scene, but lane three is being kept open to help rush-hour traffic, however, queues have been reported on the M5 southbound and on the A38 southbound.
