A NEW record attendance was set at Berkeley Castle's annual Easter Extravaganza.
More than 3,000 people visited the historic castle - a record for that weekend.
Visitors took part in events for all ages including an egg hunt around the gardens, bonnet making workshops, face painting and giant games alongside live demonstrations, storytelling and singing. Other activities included Morris dancing, archery with stalls in the Great Hall.
Events organiser Rachel Groom said: "It was a great weekend and we had record figures. The weekend went very well and there were no hitches. Everybody enjoyed the events we had - we had hundred of entries for the Easter egg hunt."
The winner of the Easter egg hunt was Becky Harris, from Bishopstone, Bristol, who took home a giant golden Easter egg.
The next event at the castle will be the Fairfax Battalia from April 30 to May 2. The Fairfax Battalia is a re-enactment group which recreates the military and civilian life of a company of soldiers from the period of the English Civil War.
