HOLD on tight, the white knuckle ride is going to get that little bit more intense as Forest Green enter the final eight games of the season during an Easter period that could decide Rovers' Conference future.

Alan Lewer's side welcome champions elect Barnet, who trounced Rovers' relegation rival s Farnborough Town 7-1 last Saturday, to The Lawn on Good Friday (3pm) and then on Easter Monday make the trip to Gravesend and Northfleet.

The remaining fixtures after the Easter period will see Lewer's side welcome Mark Cooper's Tamworth on April 2. Rovers then travel to fellow relegation candidates Northwich Victoria the following Tuesday before making the arduous and tricky trip to Carlisle on Saturday April 9. Hereford come to the Lawn on April 12, followed by a visit to Morecombe on April 19. Rovers complete the season at home to Canvey Island on April 23.

FOREST GREEN are certainly fighting tooth and nail in their fight against the drop.

Once again, Alan Lewer's side came close to snatching three points, but were frustrated as they chalked up their third consecutive draw. The game began at speed with three goals in the opening half-hour. After just four minutes Andy Harris' cross was partially cleared only for Matt Gadsby to sweep home. Ten minutes later Glen Southam netted parity. However, ten minutes on and Rovers regained the initiative. Darren Davies picked out Charlie Griffin for Mark Beesley to lift the ball over Tony Roberts.

On the cusp of the interval Jon Richardson upended Craig Mackail-Smith and Chris Moore netted parity from the spot.

Rovers spurned a great chance to take the spoils with just ten minutes left. Beesley turned away from his marker and with Roberts to beat, he chose to find Griffin and the chance went begging. Griffin was thwarted at the death only to see Roberts make a wonder stop.

GLS Cup Woking 3 Forest Green Rovers 1

ROVERS' participation in the GLS Cup came to an end at the fifth-round stage.

Mark Beesley gave Rovers the lead but goals from Chris Sharpling (2) and Liam Cockerill put the tie out of Rovers' reach.

BEN CLEVERLEY'S goal failed to save Forest Green from a 2-1 defeat by Yate Town in the semi-final of the Gloucestershire Senior Cup on Monday.
