KATHARINE Lady Berkeley's School in Wotton-under-Edge was the venue on Saturday for the final series of races in the junior cross country season, and with over 140 medals and shields up for grabs it was quite a day.
This year, race organiser Ron White invited Sam Dalglish to the event, who six years ago was White's first senior boys winner and who has since gone on to run for England youth at cross country level.
18 schools from the region, totalling 300 athletes, braved the weather and a good morning's racing was had, with Blue Coat Primary School becoming the Big School champion and Amberley the Small School champion school.
Individual winners: Junior girls Elise Clement (Blue Coat), junior boys Cullam Brazier (Charfield), senior girls Lia Grafton (Blue Coat), senior boys Tom Purnell (Minchinhampton), with Cullam Brazier the only runner to win all four races in the season.
