SIR - In a small article regarding Christmas tree recycling we were told there would be a collection at Highfields recycling centre in Dursley. We have no recycling centre in Highfields. It has been removed! We therefore assumed it was a mistake but there was a van sitting in an empty lay-by all morning waiting for Christmas trees.
We have been told to take our cardboard to Cam which is regularly overflowing and a complete mess. Could I be so bold as to suggest that Dursley could do with better, more frequent recycling facilities if the one at Highfields has had to go.
If, as an article suggested, we recycle the most in the whole of the South-West, then we should have better facilities to support it, that everyone has access to. Some people cannot drive to Cam to recycle cardboard, and others must wonder if we have to drive there is it environmentally friendly anyway!
