BERKELEY residents concerned about a recent report that identified the area between Canon Park and the town's bypass as a suitable site for 300 homes can air their views at a public meeting at Berkeley Town Hall on Monday (6.30pm).
A speaker from Stroud District Council will explain what the implications of the report are and how soon, if at all, they could be felt in the town.
The Gazette has already heard from a number of Berkeley residents who oppose the idea for reasons including distance from employment centres, damage to the character of the area, increase in traffic volume and 300 homes being too many.
Because of the meeting Berkeley Town Council will not now meet until Monday, January 24 (7.30pm). That meeting will be in the town hall as usual.
