SIR - Although I've lived in the North-East of England for over 30 years, I'm a Gloucestershire girl born and bred.
Amongst my favourite childhood memories are day trips to Weston-Super-Mare on the steam train nicknamed the Dursley Donkey. We used to join the train at Coaley Junction. One of the signalmen there was my great uncle Oliver (Higgins).
I used to have a copy of a poem concerning the time the Dursley Donkey 'lost its tail'. Evidently some carriages had come adrift. Unfortunately I've mislaid it. Can anyone help?
