A BONFIRE and Firework Spectacular is being held in Wotton-under-Edge tomorrow on the land at New Road allocated for Wotton Sports Foundation.
The entrance is via Katharine Lady Berkeley's School, with gates opening at 5.45pm.
The following times are approximate: 6.15pm Bonfire lighting, 6.30pm Children's display (low noise), 7.30pm Main display, 8pm Disco by DJ Dan. The site will close at 9pm.
Earlier in the day there will be a contest for the best guy. Each person entering a guy will be entitled to an entrance ticket for the festivities.
The guys will be judged at noon at Wotton Civic Centre. First prize is a family ticket to Cattle Country Adventure Park, neart Berkeley, while the winning guy will take pride of place at the top of the bonfire.
Tickets for the evening on the gate will cost £4 for adults and £3 for school-age children, with £14 for a family ticket (two adults plus two children).
A number of organisations will be helping at the event, which is co-ordinated by Wotton-under-Edge and District Round Table.
Round Table is an association of clubs for young men aged between 18 and 45 that provides a wide range of both social and community service opportunities.
Spokesman Ian Milner said: "We need more members so we can continue to organise events like the firework display. Joining is a great way to make friends and do something useful with some of your time."
Anyone interested can contact Ian on 01453 842701 or visit www.wotton-under-edge.net.
Round Table's sister organisation, Ladies Circle, will also be helping tomorrow, with Wotton Lions Club organising the parking, a facility contributed by Katharine Lady Berkeley's School. Wotton 41 Club and Tangent are providing the barbecue.
All money raised from the event goes to local charities. Tabler Mike Davison said: "We raised £3,500 from last year's fireworks display. It would be great to do even better this year."
