TIMBER Pond Racing continues to enjoy the extended summer with the firm ground horses having more successes over the last couple weeks. Blazing Batman who runs for the syndicate Jumping Jokers provided them with their first winner when he won the handicap steeplechase at Exeter.

The 13-year-old hurdler Fifth Generation who runs for Ted Lord's Pub The Berkeley Arms Purton was in action at Kempton and although outpaced by horses half his age at the finish still earned the stable some valuable place money.

This along with Klondike Chargers earnings at Wincanton has elevated the stable to 39th position in the trainers table alongside the likes of Nicky Henderson (28th) and Henrietta Knight (36th) with a total of over £42,000 prize money earned. Unfortunately it will be difficult to maintain this position as the ground eases with this rain and the bigger yards pull out their higher-class horses.

However the stable also has a few soft ground horses to run including Good Lord Murphy who ran in the Topham chase over the Grand National fences last season. Also a new inmate recently bought from Allan Berry's yard last week called Only for Gold who won 7 flat races for his father Jack Berry.

Timber Pond Racing has no horses running this Sunday, and so is holding an "Open House" for all its owners, but Dr Phil Pritchard has asked us to inform anyone who is interested in following his horses to come to Dauncey's Farm Purton to see the horses doing a bit of work this Sunday morning starting around 9 am. To be followed by a presentation and a few video clips of recent successes. Interested persons are asked to let Phil know if they wish to attend on 811989.
