CHRISTMAS will be celebrated in style this year, courtesy of Wotton Town Council.
Plans are being made for a festive Medieval Saturday at the beginning of the season.
On December 6 a special Farmers' Market will include a craft market with presents on sale. This will all be situated in Market Street, with stalls in the garden of The Star Inn and outside the pub on the site of the Stony Chipping.
Musicians from the Bubonic Band, who played at Wotton's 750 Charter Festival, will entertain the crowd.
There will also be a fancy dress competition, with entrants invited to wear Medieval panto costume - a parade of everyone who dresses up will process from Wotton library.
The parade will be accompanied by Father Christmas in a horse-drawn carriage. On arrival at The Star, he will take up residence in his grotto there.
From November 1, Wotton Farmers' Market will be held at Wotton Town Hall on the first Saturday of each month.
