THE YOUTH of Berkeley, Sharpness and the surrounding area can point the way forward at a public meeting on Monday (7.30pm).
Stroud District Council youth worker Debbie Laing, in conjunction with Berkeley Town Council, has organised the meeting to see what facilities can be laid on for young people.
The Youth: The Way Forward workshop will be held at Berkeley Town Hall. All members of the community, young and old, are welcome to attend and give their views on what can be done.
The meeting will involve a discussion and group workshop to generate ideas, which can be implemented by the town and parish councils.
Cllr John Freeland, of Berkeley Town Council, said: "We need to have a consensus of opinion to see what is required and it needs to be youth led.
"It's no good if we (the town council) tell them what we are going to do. We have to tell them what we can do and let them tell us what they want us to do."
Berkeley Town Council will report at its meeting the following week, but will have to wait for the favoured options to be costed before being able to approve implementation.
