POLICE are searching for a man after two teenagers were attacked and left seriously injured in Yate.

The boys - aged 14 and 15 - were beaten around the head, one with a metal bar.

The 14-year-old boy was outside McDonalds in the shopping centre at about 8pm on Monday, February 21.

Three men are believed to have approached him and repeatedly kicked him and beat him around the head with the metal bar.

The boy was taken to Frenchay Hospital, where he had staples inserted into his wounds.

His 15-year-old friend saw what was happening from inside McDonalds and ran out to help.

He was then hit in the face and knocked to the floor. The teenager suffered injuries to his nose, cheek and the inside and outside of his mouth.

One of the men police would like to talk to about the incident was caught on CCTV. His face is clearly visible in the picture and police hope someone will recognise him.

He is described as black, 5ft 11in of medium build. He is believed to be 19 or 20 years old.

The attack has been described as "unprovoked and vicious".

Staple Hill CID is investigating but anyone with any information, or who recognises the man, is asked to call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, reference number EM237.
