TABLE-TOPPERS Mangotsfield stretched their unbeaten league run to 13 games with a draw against second placed Evesham.

But it was a bit of a battle against a defiant Corby side that was well shored up at the back.

In fact, Mangotsfield looked a little out of sorts in the first half and Corby had the best chances.

Though Mangotsfield upped their game in the second period, strikers David Seal and Robbie Claridge failed to make the most of their opportunities, though Claridge was particularly unlucky with a shot that hit the upright.

Midfielder Ross Casey also missed a late chance, as did defender Mark Summers as Mangotsfield surged forward looking for a winner which did not come.

Mangotsfield boss Martyn Grimshaw was reasonably satisfied with the point.

"Corby have not been beaten at home since December," he said, "and it is a difficult place to go, with little atmosphere. We were a bit jaded after 11 days without a game but had enough chances to win, including hitting a post and the bar."

Asked how he thought the run to the line was going, Grimshaw observed: "There are still nine games to go and I'm sure there will be a lot of twists and turns to come yet. We just have to carry on as we're going."

l Mangotsfield's next challenge is this Saturday, away to Ashford.
