Almondsbury Town 0 Fairford Town 4
ALMONDSBURY followed on from last week's nightmare 5-4 home defeat to Abingdon United with another disappointing display at Oaklands Park.
Fairford Town have long been considered to be one of the most dangerous teams in the Hellenic Premier Division on their day and, sure enough, that point was proved on Saturday with clinical efficiency.
Defensive frailties were largely responsible for Almondsbury's undoing, though Nick Tanner's men did have their chances early on.
Matt Berry and Ryan Couzens spurned two decent early opportunities before Fairford raced into a two-goal lead by the interval.
Key players Lee Clarke and Lee Stoddart scored the goals, and it got worse for the hosts after the break.
Chasing the game for long periods, Almondsbury conceded a third to Ryan Lovegrove before Dave Toomey slotted home a penalty to make it 4-0.
Having leaked nine goals in their last two games, Almondsbury will be looking to make a marked improvement in their next few matches having slid down several places in the league table.
