ONE of Chipping Sodbury's most successful small businesses has revealed the secrets of its success for a television programme.
Hobbs House Bakery was selected to take part in the 20-part BBC series Mind Your Own Business because of its award-winning status and stature in the Cotswold region.
Co-director of the Hatters Lane-based family company Trevor Wells said: "It is reassuring to be recognised. Baking is hard work and not something we do on a whim.
"Bakeries are closing down due to all sorts of pressures and the question is, is there a way through?
"In a little way, we are saying that we think there is and that it should be the right of every customer in the country to buy fresh bread."
Mr Wells' son 28-year-old Tom Herbert will star in the programme, giving advice to a baker from Birmingham whose business is struggling.
Mr Herbert, who has the British Bakery's Young Baker of the Year award under his belt, is based in the firm's Nailsworth shop.
His father praised him for bringing baking in Nailsworth into the 21st Century.
He added that he thought the BBC had chosen Hobbs because of the company's understanding of new and complex legislation on businesses, the presentation of its products and its traditional roots.
The series is due to be broadcast in mid-April.
