THORNBURY's three cadet forces - Sea, Air and Army - are now officially affiliated to town's Royal British Legion branch.
The move - sealed at a ceremony this week at the town's Sea Cadet headquarters - is aimed at improving and building upon mutual support and assistance for all four organisations in whatever ways are possible.
The organisations are always in need of support, particularly the Sea Cadet Corps which could face closure without new adult volunteers for its unit management committee.
Thornbury RBL cadet liaison officer Roger Miles said: "There is a very urgent need to invite members of the public to volunteer to join the management committee. It's a requirement under charity law and if one is not in existence in three months time the Unit will close. "Any assistance in this matter would be gratefully received."
He said the ATC and ACF were also on the lookout for adult instructors and all three cadet forces and the Royal British Legion welcomed new recruits.
The venues and meeting times for the four groups are as follows Sea Cadet Corps - Grammar School field, Gloucester Road, Thornbury, Mondays and Thursdays (7.30pm).
Army Cadet Force - ACF HQ, Gloucester Road, Thornbury, every Wednesday (7.30pm). Air Training Corps - Grammar School field, Gloucester Road, Thornbury, Mondays and Thursdays (7.30pm).
Royal British Legion - The Chantry, third Friday of the month (8pm).
