I AM calling on local people to support Marie Curie Cancer Care's annual Great Daffodil Appeal in March, which is supported by Yellow Pages.
The 2005 appeal hopes to be bigger and better than ever, with a staggering target of £3 million, and the charity needs your help!
This year, as part of the appeal, Marie Curie Cancer Care has launched a brand new event, the Great Daffodil Walk Home. Across the country on Friday March 18 people will be wearing daffodils and walking home to support Marie Curie Nurses.
I'd love to see the people of South Gloucestershire joining in by holding their own walks in our community.
It's so easy to organise your own short walk - either on your own or with friends, family or colleagues and what's more, by joining in you'll be doing something really special.
Marie Curie Nurses care for terminally ill people AT HOME so by organising a walk and wearing your daffodil on your way home you will be showing that home is important to you too.
For more information or to register your own walk, simply visit www.mariecurie.org.uk/daffodil/walkhome or call 0870 2401 021. Yellow Pages' and Persimmon Homes are supporting the walks. This support means that funds raised by the appeal will go directly to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
