THORNBURY Town grabbed the glory in the first half of their match with Longwell Green Sports with a penalty from Andy Brookbanks and went in at half-time one up.
Sports had battled against the weather to put on this fixture and won the battle against their old rivals as they took the game to Thornbury and added a valuable three points to their championship title hopes.
A Mark Davis equaliser set the pattern and then up popped Steve Howe to put them ahead. Manager Matt Hale added the third and the strike from Nick Stewart secured the game.
Highridge United entertained bottom club Viney St Swithins, but unfortunately Viney had no answer as the Highridge strikers showed them how to score with Mike Jenkins' hat-trick and Craig Eddy hitting the back of the net.
Steve Miles added his name to the scoresheet with a brace, with Mike Berry and Mark Reynolds also scoring.
Adam Hacker hit a hat-trick as Hardwicke hit the biggest score of the day at home to lowly DRG/Stapleton.
Other strikes came off the boot of John Leccacorvi with a brace, Rich James with a double strike and Justin Powell ran in another goal.
DRG/Stapleton put one through their own net, and the only consolation was a Mark Cozens strike for the visitors.
Totterdown POB pulled themselves out of the relegation zone as they ran out winners away to AXA. Ben Rickwood's goal, a Ken Jeffered brace and a strike from the boot of Greg Rogers were enough to take the points for Totterdown.
AXA came close after their hitmen added to their tally, Andy Sledge, Paul Westwood and Mike Branch hitting the net.
The rest of the programme was washed out.
