A PARTING presentation gift to a key member of Dodington Parish Band should certainly hit the right note.
Jenni Moorhouse has received a framed map of the parish to mark her farewell from both the band and as manager of Yate, Sodbury and District Community Transport.
Mrs Moorhouse is leaving both organisations to live in Wales.
Cllr David Fitt, chairman of Dodington Parish Council, said: "Jenni will be sorely missed. She has worked tirelessly and enthusiastically for a number of years in her capacity as manager of Yate, Sodbury and District Community Transport to provide an improved and much needed local service.
"At the same time, she has played a vital part in the success of the parish band not only playing an instrument but combining that with all the duties that go with the secretary's role."
Mrs Moorhouse joined the parish band in 2000 and her enthusiasm quickly resulted in her being appointed also as a "playing" secretary.
The band's activities include performances at Chipping Sodbury Festival and Victorian Evening as well as a Christmas performance at Wapley Court Care Home, Yate.
Mrs Moorhouse is the first to be appointed as life-long member of the band which will be visiting her in Wales to do a concert.
She said: "I shall certainly miss my involvement in both organisations.
"It has been made so enjoyable for me by the hard work and co-operation of others as well as the obvious rewards from the appreciation of those benefiting from the service provided.
"I have loved every minute of it."
