A PILLAR of the Chipping Sodbury community is leaving for a fresh challenge and a new job.
The Rev Adrian Redfearn, who has been associate minister at Chipping Sodbury Baptist Church for more than four years, said that although he is sad about leaving, he is looking forward to a new challenge.
The father-of-one is upping sticks with wife Rachel and moving to Princes Risborough, near Aylesbury, where he will be the Baptist minister.
He told the Gazette: "The congregation is relatively old and I am hoping to go there and help the church progress. It will also be the 300 anniversary of the church and so I feel it is an opportune time to make some changes.
"I will miss Chipping Sodbury but I feel the time is right to move on."
Mr Redfearn may be welcoming some famous faces in his new role as Chequers, the Prime Minister's country residence, is just along the road from the church.
