Brislington 1 Hallen 2
HALLEN were more than pleased with this result which maintains their re-surgence in form, writes Gordon Evans.
They tok the lead with only five minutes gone, courtesy of a penalty by Andy Cook, after Jason Reynolds had been pulled down. The penalty had to be taken (and put away ) twice but Cook kept his nerve.
The score remained that way well into the second half, with the main highlight being the sending off of Paul Owen 25 minutes from the end of the game for allegedly blocking a move on goal, a decision that did not find favour with Hallen.
But five minutes later the visitors were all smiles again when Reynolds ran from the halfway line and slotted the bal under the keeper for 2-0.
Brislington managed to reduce the deficit, thanks to a penalty kick from Jason Eaton, but a late and great save by Steve Scannell right at the death ensured that the full points deservedly went to Hallen.
"This was a very good performance," said Hallen boss Gary Dimone, "particularly as we were without Tom Collett, Tony Beacham and Nick Durbin." Hallen are home to mid-tablers Bridport on Saturday.
