SIR - I attended the Castle School, Thornbury, Tsunami Appeal concert and would like to thank all those who entertained us.
It was evident that Mrs Holmes was overwhelmed by the number of artists wanting to take part. The diversity of programme was such that all tastes were catered for, from jazz to Gamelon, from harp to steel band, brass and wind quintets, horn and sax solo's, vocal duet to gospel choir and django style guitar duo. Several former pupils returned specially for the concert, so enthusiastic were they to make their contribution.
Thornbury is indeed lucky to have such talented youth in its midst, many of whom have gone on to develop careers in music thanks to the encouragement given by the school.
I am sure that the appeal will benefit greatly from the large, appreciative audience.
