A LANDLORD from Yate has returned to the pub he fondly remembers running in the 1980s.
Kevin Langmaid is back behind the bar at Stanshawes Court public house after 13 years away, and he is wasting no time making sure that all his customers' glasses are full.
Kevin previously ran the pub for seven years with his late wife Carol. The couple transformed it into one of Yate's most sought after venues for weddings and parties.
Numerous managers have stepped into Kevin's shoes since he left in 1992.
Now, Kevin and his new wife Caroline have returned and are up to the challenge of once again making Stanshawes Court a popular watering hole and eatery.
Kevin wants to help restore the grand old building to its former glory.
He said: "I am really pleased to come back to Stanshawes Court and can't wait to start booking the weddings for this year and next.
"There is a great new menu and I am very keen to put us back as one of the best eating houses in the area - just as it should be.
"Valentine's Day, Easter and Mothering Sunday are coming around fast and we are planning to give all our customers - new and old - a great chance to celebrate with us all at Stanshawes."
Kevin, who doubles as a manager and a chef, and Caroline want to encourage lost customers to venture back to the pub on Stanshawes Court Drive.
The pub now has a brand new menu, special rates for pensioners, a weekly quiz night and function rooms.
A carvery is being launched on Sunday.
