ROVERS do need to start pressing their home advantage to make the rest of the season a challenging one. They have lost only once at the Memorial Stadium but they have drawn half their 14 games, most of them frustratingly.
So tomorrow's visit by neighbours Cheltenham Town who have the same number of points - 37 - is yet another key game and Rovers must be slight favourites to improve on the 1-1 at Whaddon Road at the end of December. But John Ward's side are also draw specialists away, six of their 13 trips ending all square.
Rovers have been impeded by a strong of injuries but John Anderson, Aaron Lescott and Dave Savage are expected to be options for inclusion, while Ryan Williams may get a recall from his loan spell at Conference side Forest Green Rovers.
And Rovers will need to make a change up front, with Junior Agogo on a two-match ban, which will also keep him out of Tuesday's LDV Vans Trophy semi-final at Leyton Orient, following his weekend controversial dismissal after scoring the equaliser at Lincoln.
Extraordinarily Agogo saw red for a gesture apparently towards his own dug-out, which referee Fred Graham interpreted somewhat differently to the rest of his team-mates and manager Ian Atkins. Rovers did appeal but this was rejected.
City had enjoyed a brief second half lead before Agogo struck for his 14th goal of the season . It left a depleted side to battle on for 25 minutes when both sides, particularly Rovers, had chance to win it.
Boss Ian Atkins, who admitted he had given his strikers a rollicking at half-time, reckoned Agogo's reaction to his goal was an emotional one in a moment of elation - and it did not bother him.
Atkins also this week voiced some quite unusual comments about referees and claimed some first-year officials were being given tough games at the Memorial Stadium in front of volatile crowds to see how they reacted. He will not be able to do so on Saturday - the experienced Paul Danson, from Leicesershire, will be in charge.
He will also be hoping he does not need to wind up his players at half-time. Fans - and their will be a bumper crowd - will expect nothing less than 90-minute endeavour against a side who enjoyed their best Coca Cola League win of the season at the weekend, 4-1 at home against Rushden and Diamonds.
