Almondsbury FC 3 Biddestone 1
ALMONDSBURY FC enjoyed a return to form with a 3-1 win over Biddestone though they did have to come from behind.
Basically, the game was one-way traffic against lowly Biddestone but though Adam Grinter hit the woodwork on 7 minutes and Mark Stoneham missed a glorious chance it was the visitors who took the lead on 20 minutes when they hacked a wind-assisted ball down the pitch and Almondsbury found themselves a goal down.
It didn't last too long, though, with John Rugman equalising at the far post from Stoneham's cross.
With the wind in their favour second half, Almondsbury proceeded to finish off their opponents, Graham Lippiatt making it 2-1 from a corner followed by a goal from Grinter for a final score of 3-1.
It was a good day all round for the club, with the Reserves winning through to the Senior Amateur Cup semi-final.
l This Saturday Almondsbury FC, lying 7th in the table, are away to 6th placed Larkhall. The two sides met earlier this season, with Almondsbury 1-0 victors.
