DURSLEY Male Voice Choir, with soloist Kevin Robbins, will be performing a concert in Lister Hall, Dursley, on Saturday, February 5 (7.30pm) to help raise money for the fund set up following the devastation caused throughout Asia by the Boxing Day tsunami.
As soon as news of the disaster came through members of the choir began to work out what was needed to put on this concert at short notice and they have been touched by the willingness of many people to provide support.
At this early stage there has not been time to confirm the programme, but you can be sure there will be the usual blend of favourite songs from the choir, perhaps with one or two less familiar items to ensure variety. Kevin Robbins can be depended on to provide a virtuoso performance on the cornet as he always does.
Ticket prices have not yet been fixed, but all proceeds from the concert will go to the fund. Lister Social Club has agreed to waive the fee for use of the hall, and both the choir and Kevin Robbins will be providing their services without charge.
Tickets will soon be available from the normal outlets, including Durcans, Tomlinson Harris and Clutterbucks in Dursley, Relish at 36 High Street, Wotton-under-Edge, or any choir member. They can also be obtained via the choir website at www.dursleymalechoir.org.uk
