SIR - I read your front page story (May 28) Fury after move rejected regarding the (second) refusal of planning consent for a motorcycle training centre at Pucklechurch, with some incredulity!
Why doesn't the applicant stop whingeing and put his energy into looking for a more appropriate site?
The inspector who heard Mr Phillips' first appeal said "the whole emphasis of the application is one of providing basic facilities as cheaply as possible".
He went on to say that the plans would cause "substantial harm to the openness of the Green Belt, to the landscape character of the site, and to the setting of the nearby Grade II* listed building".
Yet we now learn that Mr Phillips intends to continue to waste council tax payers' money by appealing again.
Yes, he has the right to appeal, but he must know he has no chance of success. If he is directed to pay the council's costs he may think twice before pursuing vexatious appeals again.
