CASTLE Combe Race Circuit will be hosting one of the biggest and most unique car extravaganzas of the year this summer.
The Charitable Sports and Supercar Day 2004 is a huge fundraising event, and motorsport fans will flock to the Chippenham-based circuit to be a part of the big day on Friday, August 27.
The event will be raising funds for the children's charity SPARKS by offering passenger rides to the general public in 48 different cars. All proceeds raised from the rides as well as the entrance fees (£1) will be given directly to the charity.
For the past two years the event has been held at Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex and has raised many thousands of pounds for a local hospital's MRI scanner appeal.
All kinds of activities will be happening on the day including the all-important passenger rides, together with trade stands, car club areas and a raffle prize draw among others.
Tiff Needell, from Channel 5's Fifth Gear motoring programme, Andre D'Cruze, from ITV's Racing Rivals, and British Touring Car ace Phil Bennett will also be there on the day, ferrying passengers around in a variety of cars.
Last year, the event saw almost 2000 people turn up and this time organisers are expecting the same and so are hopeful of raising a large total for the charity.
