A RESCUE Centre for Persian cats opens in Coalpit Heath tomorrow. The centre, can house up to eight abandoned cats, is being run by Isabelle Davenport, a retired veterinary receptionist.
Mrs Davenport, of The Brake, said: "I decided to start the rescue centre because there isn't another one in the area. I will be re-homing the cats and I will be able to help people with all aspects of looking after them.
"The main reason why Persian cats are dumped is that they need a lot of grooming. They have to be groomed everyday or every other and people don't have the time to do it. But they are adorable animals."
