SIR - Wednesday was International Nurses Day, and Macmillan Cancer Relief would like to take the opportunity to say a big thank you to all our Macmillan nurses who are supporting patients, family and friends living with cancer.
There are around 2,200 Macmillan nurses in the UK who are there for cancer patients through every step of their cancer journey, providing expert care and advice. They also support the patient's family and carers and make time to link up with all the different doctors involved in treating someone's cancer.
As one patient said to me recently, "If cancer ever happens to you and you get a Macmillan nurse, you'll be in great hands."
For more information on Macmillan nurses or how to get one, please call freephone Macmillan CancerLine on 0808 808 2020.
Peter Cardy, Chief Executive, Macmillan Cancer Relief.
