A BANK customer from Yate is one of the first people in the country to have secured a spot at the London 2012 Olympics.
David Penton, 36, has won the chance to see the likes of triple Olympic champion Usain Bolt and double gold medallist Rebecca Adlington as well as world 10m platform diving champion Tom Daley in action at next year’s Olympics thanks to an exclusive promotion from Lloyds TSB.
The rest of the world won’t find out if they have a seat until later this month but Mr Penton, of Littledean, was overjoyed at his premature London 2012 news.
"I was really thrilled when I found out that I had won the competition and got some Olympic tickets," said Mr Penton, who works at Frenchay Hospital.
"I don’t win much so it was nice to finally break that and win something I really wanted.
"I still don’t know what sports I will be watching yet but to be honest I don’t really mind because I am just going to be happy to be there."
Ticket winners were drawn at random from the Trackside customer programme, with 500 London 2012 supporters given the chance to watch one of the 26 Olympic sports and 20 Paralympic sports at London 2012 over 31 action-packed days.
Mr Penton added: "It is something that is never going to happen in my lifetime again so I really am lucky to have this opportunity to be there."
