GARDENING experts are to be quizzed to raise money for the Wotton in Bloom project.

Three local experts in horticulture are to have their knowledge tested when they participate in a local version of the Radio 4 classic ‘Gardeners Question Time’.

The event will take place at Wotton Electric Picture House on Tuesday, June 7, but people are urged to book early to avoid disappointment.

Wotton resident and mother of River Cottage star Hugh, Jane Fearnley-Whittingstall will chair the event and will bring her considerable knowledge of garden design to the table. She has won two Gold Chelsea awards and has a string of successful gardening books to her name.

Also on the panel will be trained gardener with the National Trust and owner of a garden school in Slimbridge Sue Gibson along with Barbara Adams, a vegetable gardener who regularly opens her garden in Charfield for charity. The aim is to raise money for the Wotton in Bloom project to supply hanging baskets and flowers to shops in the town and keep them tended to throughout the summer.

Tickets for Gardeners Question Time are £10 each (including some refreshments) and are available from the cinema, Cuzuns in the High Street, and the Wotton Farm Shop.
